Saalian glacial deposits and morphology in the Netherlands, Van den Berg & Beets, 1986

The Saalian glaciation in The Netherlands shows a strong relation between glacial bedforms and the nature of the underlying sequence of unconsolidated sediments. There are two distinct lineations, an older NE-SW lineation, which is overprinted by a NNW-SSE lineation in a 15 km wide zone, the Hondsrug. These are the mega flutes of the Hondsrug.
